GOC 61 Sub Area flags off Motor Cycle expedition from Jaipur to Kargil

In an emphatic expression of love and gratefulness to the Indian Army, a group of highly motivated and patriotic six civilian professionals have came forth to undertake a motor cycle expedition from Jaipur to Kargil to commemorate the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’. The motorcycle rally was flagged off from the war memorial located at HQ South Western Command on 16 Jul 16 by Brig Ajit Singh, Officiating GOC 61 Sub Area.

The Team of motor cyclists known as the ‘Patriot Riders’ comprises Himmat Singh Shekhawat, Adhiraj Singh Naruka, Pradhuman Singh Khangarot, Aditya Singh Rathore, Ravinder Jangid, Shivaditya Modi.

The aim of the expedition is to express immense affection and respect that the people of Rajasthan and Jaipur in particular have for the Indian Army. The expedition also aims to encourage the youth of the country to join the Indian Armed Forces. The team is carrying with it signatures and messages of thousands of people of Jaipur who have shown their solidarity, respect and love for the Indian Army. The same will be handed over to the Army Commander on the Kargil Vijay Diwas.

The expedition will cover a distance of approximately 3010 Kms over a period of 12 days starting from Jaipur and will reach Kargil on 26 Jul 16.

Speaking on the occasion, Brig Ajit Singh officiating GOC 61 Sub Area said that the Indian Army has always been on the forefront of nation building, whether it be defence against external aggression, assisting in natural calamities or in internal security. The safety and security of fellow countrymen is of foremost concern to the Indian Army and it is therefore very heartening that our efforts and dedication are appreciated by the civil populace. The love of its countrymen is the greatest source of inspiration for the Indian Army.
