To keep alive the rich Indian music legacy, Morning Ragas was performed at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) during ‘Navras’ – the Performing Arts Festival. The renowned Indian classical vocalist, Pandit Harish Tiwari performed on raags — ‘Bharav’, ‘Kamal Rishabh’ and Bhajan ‘Jo Bhaje Hari Ko Naam Sada So Param Pad Payega’ at the JKK Lawns today.
An ‘A’ Grade Artiste of All India Radio & Television of India, Pandit Harish Tiwari who totally immerse himself in the occasion of “Swara”. He has performed extensively all over the country and has been awarded PhD from the University of Delhi. He is presently working as member of the faculty of vocal music as an Assistant Professor in University of Delhi.
Born in Deoria District of Uttar Pradesh, Pandit Harish Tiwari started his musical journey under the guidance of Guru Thakur Choubey. Encouraged by his teaching process,Harish Tiwari had further persuaded his career in BHU and was under the tutelage of Pandit Ajeet Bhattacharya and Pandit Nandan Ji, both disciple of legendary vocalist Pandit Omkar Nath Thakur. He also had the opportunity to take the guidance under Pandit Kundanlal Sharma who taught him intricacies of Shyamchaurasia Gharana of Punjab.
