Manipal Hospital in legal soup for over charging Remidisiver injection

Advocate AK Jain has filed a court complaint on behalf of Ashok Kumar Gurjar

Demands an FIR and action against Manipal Hospital Jaipur as per law

Jaipur – Manipal Hospital in Jaipur is in legal soup allegedly for overcharging for Remidisiver injection used for covid-19 treatment. Ashok Kumar Gurjar, a resident of Shankar Nagar in Jaipur has filed a court complaint in the court of District and Sessions judge Jaipur metropolitan (second) to register an FIR under drug and cosmetics act and other relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the court complaint filed through advocate AK Jain, it is pleaded to the court that when complainant had informed the drug and cosmetics department against overcharging, an inspection team had visited hospital in May 2021.

The plea informs the court that license of pharmacy of the Manipal Hospital was suspended for ten days from May 31 to June 9, 2021. What is more shocking is that drug and cosmetics department report had found that record of injection purchased by the patient himself could not be produced at the level of pharmacy.

“Inspection book on Form-35 was not found maintained. Registered pharmacist was not found present at the time of inspection. Batch number and date of expiry was not found mentioned on the sale bills. The price of Remidisiver injection in some bills was found as per MRP as against the price of Rs 2800 as instructed in government notification dated December 16, 2020.” reads the court complaint.

Ashok Kumar Gurjar has pleaded to the court to file an FIR against the Manipal Hospital under section 27 A, 28, 28 A, under drug and cosmetics act and under section 3/7 of EC act.
